As with just about everything in Elkins during the week of the Mountain State Forest Festival, City Hall will see a change in the flow of regular business.
There are no committee or council meetings scheduled, and City Hall will be closed on Friday, Oct. 4.
The adjusted garbage schedule has been distributed through all the city's electronic media platforms as well as being published in The Inter-Mountain.
For those of you who may routinely park in the lot behind City Hall, please be aware that as of yesterday (Friday, Sept. 28) at 5 p.m. there is no parking permitted in the gravel area, and only City Hall employees or customers are permitted to park in the paved lots.
Any vehicles found in violation of this posted notice will be towed at the owner's expense.
Drivers should also avoid parking on downtown streets after today as several are occupied by the carnival or frequently used for special festival events.
As we progress through the week and the volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic increases, please be alert and travel safely. And of course… enjoy the Forest Festival!
