Funding needs to be reinstated
I’m writing to invite my fellow West Virginians to ask our Congressional delegation to support permanent reauthorization and funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).
This extremely powerful and reliable source of funding is absolutely essential for the growth and welfare of “Wild and Wonderful” West Virginia.
West Virginia’s wilderness — its mountains, forests and rivers — are the reason I moved to this state and why I hope to stay here for the rest of my life.
The conservation projects made possible by LWCF have greatly expanded access to public lands for everyone, from city pools, to state parks, to places such as the Monongahela National Forest and Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge.
This is one of the most important issues to me, as well as many other constituents of West Virginia that enjoy fishing, outdoor recreation, parks and all the other resources offered through public lands.
I strongly urge you to support the permanent reauthorization of this fund. Thank you very much for your time.
