ELKINS -- The Davis & Elkins College men's lacrosse team dropped a 16-12 decision to the District of Columbia in their season opener on Saturday at Nuttall Field.
Matt O'Dwyer had three goals and Kyle Durec added two for the Senators, who outshot the visitors 45-42, forcing their goalkeeper to make 14 saves.
Kyle Seago and Luke Norcross played one half each for D&E. Norcross had six saves and Seago added five.
The Senators will return to action at 1 p.m. on March 4 at home against Newberry College.
