LOST CREEK –The Tygarts Valley boys basketball team saw their season end with a 75-46 setback to South Harrison Saturday in opening round play of the Class A, Region II, Section 1 tourney.
The Bulldogs were unable to get on track after falling behind, 27-8, after the first quarter.
Logan George had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds for Tygarts Valley, while Aidan Row added eight points and Devan Ball four boards.
Brent Barnette fired in 33 points and Caleb Jenkins added 22 for the Hawks, who are now 17-5 and will travel to Trinity at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the sectional semifinals.
Tygarts Valley, which finished the season 6-17, loses three seniors — Devan Ball, Brett Smith and Jacob Taylor.
“The (seniors) were great leaders and role models for the younger kids in the areas of responsibility, work ethic, teamwork and Bulldog Pride,” TV coach Tom Wamsley said. “They will be missed. “Our challenge is now to regroup this summer as we prepare for next season.”
