B-U girls place second, PB boys third at Harry Green

Lady Bucs’ Oliveto wins 3 events, PB’s Faulkiner takes 100 and 200

BRIDGEPORT — The Buckhannon-Upshur girls and Philip Barbour boys and girls track and field teams competed in the Harry Green Invitational held Saturday at Bridgeport High School.

A total of 16 teams competed in the girls meet, while 14 battled in boys action.

The B-U girls turned in a second-place finish with 91 points. Philip Barbour placed sixth with 29 points.

Bridgeport took the team title with 126 points.

B-U freshman Catherine Oliveto claimed the 200-meter dash in a time of 27.87, the 400 with an effort of 1:00.50 and the long jump (16-01.25).

Teammate Kennedi Lewellyn captured the 300 hurdles (47.84). Oliveto and Lewellyn also teamed with Cameron Zuliani and Makenzi Lewellyn to take the 4×200 relay in a time of 1:49.99.

The foursome of twin sisters Kennedi and Makenzi Lewellyn, Zuliani and Yami Cerna placed second in the 4×400 (4:27.01) and the shuttle hurdle relay of Kennedi Lewellyn, Kierra Arbogast, Zuliani and Iris Kolenich was second in a time of 1:12.97.

Zuliani placed third in the discus (109-06), while Makenzi Lewellyn was third in the pole vault (8-06) and third in the 400 (1:02.36).

Kennedi Lewellyn was fourth in the pole vault, also with an effort of 8-06.

Philip Barbour’s 4×800 relay team of Shania Keene, Gracie Miller, Audrey Williams and Graylin Floyd placed first in a time of 10:27.93.

Floyd was also third in the 800 (2:29.74), while the team of Garyona Riffle Emma MacAdam, Callee Collins and Lydia Phillips was third in the shuttle hurdle relay (1:20.02).

Philip Barbour’s boys placed third with 65 points. Fairmont Senior took the team title with 123 points.

The Colts’ Tanner Faulkiner claimed both the 100 (11.32) and 200 (23.26).

Faulkiner also anchored the winning 4×100 relay and was joined by Dakota Taylor, Mason Long and Damien Gonzales in turning in a time of 45.10.

Gonzales, Lyndon Wagoner, Faulkiner and Mason Long placed second in the shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:06.98.

Noah Ward was runner-up in the 800 (2:06.49) and Tyler Channell placed third in the 1,600 (4:50.20).
