Area players to suit up for North squad

Classic will be held Sunday at Glenville State

GLENVILLE — A pair of Pendleton County standouts will be joined by two other area Potomac Valley Conference representatives in the North-South All-Star Baseball Classic set for Sunday at Glenville State College.

The Wildcats’ Timmy Thorne and Grant Evick will suit up for the North squad.

Other local PVC players on the North team include Petersburg’s Tyce Wisnewski and East Hardy’s Logan Whetzel.

Big 10 Conference players participating are Lincoln’s Hunter Moore. Preston’s Corey Pyles and East Fairmont’s Brandon Corley and Trey Hissman.

The remainder of the North roster includes Spring Mills’ Tyler Moreland, Hampshire’s Eli Hott and Tristan Everett, Wheeling Park’s Trevor Thomas and Jacob Shia, Frankfort’s Zack Whitacre and Caleb Hare, Jefferson’s Taylor Tennant and Dylan McCartney, St. Marys’ Jacob Hoyt and Eric Illar, Parkersburg Catholic’s Ty Sturm, Cameron’s Trin Scott, Gilmer County’s Dalton Rose and Trenton Frame, Ritchie County’s Tatem McCloy. Braxton County’s Jacob Oates, Roane County’s Jake Whiting and Ben Fox, Keyser’s Evan Moreland, Notre Dame’s Ethan Hager, Parkersburg South’s Drew Cochran and Hedgesville’s Chase Deluter and Brady Weaver.
