PHILIPPI -- Alderson Broaddus Director of Athletics Carrie Bodkins has announced the hiring of Paxton Boyer as the fourth head coach of the Alderson Broaddus women's lacrosse program.

"As an alumnus, Paxton brings not only familiarity, but also enthusiasm to the women’s lacrosse program," Bodkins said. "Paxton is a great addition to our staff and has hit the ground running."

Boyer, a 2017 graduate of Alderson Broaddus, returns to AB after spending last season as the head coach at Division III Southern Vermont College. Boyer led the Mountaineers to a 3-3 conference mark and advanced to the league's semifinals before falling to the top seed, Becker College.

Prior to her time as the head coach at Southern Vermont, Boyer served as the assistant coach at Davis & Elkins.

Boyer also spent three seasons as a student assistant at AB, following a playing career that was cut short by injury.

"As an alum, coming back to Alderson Broaddus as the head women’s lacrosse coach is an outstanding opportunity and I’m honored to be at AB once again," Boyer said. "I am excited to create a culture that focuses on academics, athletics and sense of community and family within the program, University and Philippi. I cannot wait to see what next season will bring, and to continue to grow the program."
