TCU returns 12 starters (7 on offense, 5 on defense) to the fold in 2019 off of last year's mediocre squad.
The Horned Frogs, who will host West Virginia the Friday following Thanksgiving, were able to finish with a 7-6 mark after defeating California 10-7 in overtime in the Cheez-It Bowl.
Veteran head coach Gary Patterson will look to Kansas State grad transfer Alex Delton to guide the offense from the quarterback spot.
Delton played 14 games with six starts the last two seasons with the Wildcats, and was a team captain last year.
True freshman Max Duggan is also expected to see playing time under center.
Sewo Olonilua returns at running back and had a school bowl record 194 yards rushing against California. Senior Darius Anderson is another veteran in the backfield.
Jalen Reagor, last year's leading receiver, also is back and was a Big 12 preseason first-team selection.
Four starters return up front, including tackle Lucas Niang -- an All-Big 12 first-team selection as well.
Defensively, TCU must replace linebackers Ty Summers and Arrico Evans.
Junior linebacker Garret Wallow is the top returning tackler.
South Carolina grad transfer Shameik Blackshear, Corey Bethley and Ross Blacklock, who missed last season with an injury, will lead the charge up front.
The secondary will be anchored by senior Jeff Gladney, one of the top cornerbacks in the Big 12 and a preseason first-team choice.
