Lady Colts second seed in state volleyball tournament

CHARLESTON -- Philip Barbour is the second seed in the Class AA portion of the state volleyball tournament slated to begin Tuesday at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
The Lady Colts, in the state tourney for the 25th straight season under coach Heather Halfin, will face seventh seed Wayne at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
The winner battles either No. 3 James Monroe or No. 6 South Harrison in the semifinals at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
The championship match is set for 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
In Class A, East Hardy is the second seed and faces No. 7 Summit Christian at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the quarterfinals, while Pendleton County is seeded eighth and squares off against top-seed Wirt County at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
