IBEX rescinds WARN notice

ELKINS – City officials received notice from IBEX Global Solutions announcing the business will not be closing its doors despite a recent WARN notice sent out to employees announcing the closure. The most recent notice apparently means 125 employees at the customer service call center will not be losing their jobs. The company did not give a reason for reversing its decision.

Fleming receives accounting award

ELKINS — Dr. Arron Scott Fleming is the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Accounting Educator Award. Fleming holds both the CPA and CMA certifications. He earned his bachelor of business administration with a major in accounting from West Virginia University in 1988 and his MBA from WVU in 1996. He obtained his Ph.D. in accounting and information systems from Virginia Tech in 2005. Fleming began his accounting career outside of the classroom and initially worked in industry for 10 years.
