31 indictments handed down by grand jury

ELKINS – A Randolph County grand jury returned 31 indictments Monday, for alleged crimes including malicious assault upon a correctional officer, and driving under the influence causing death. Sidney Austen Brenwalt, 31, of Beverly, was indicted on one count of driving under the influence causing death, a felony, and one count of driving under the influence with a BAC of 0.15 or higher, a misdemeanor. Brenwalt was initially charged after a single-vehicle fatality on the Georgetown Road in April. He is currently being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash-only ...

PHILIPPI – Fifteen people were indicted by a Barbour County grand jury on Monday, on charges including malicious assault, wanton endangerment and child neglect. Roger Dale Kisner was indicted on five counts of wanton endangerment and three counts of child neglect creating risk of injury. Nevan Michael Himes was indicted on one felony count of malicious assault, and a misdemeanor count of destruction of property. ELKINS - Elkins City Council has approved changing the title of the city operations manager position to director of operations, as well as eventually posting the vacant position, while also appointing an interim director.
