ELKINS — In March, Randolph County Schools highlighted the importance of regular school attendance across all county schools through its “Attendance is a Big Dill” initiative.
Regular attendance plays a critical role in student success, helping students stay engaged, build strong academic habits, and keep pace with instruction. The initiative focused on reinforcing this message through a fun, engaging theme that encouraged students to be present every day.
Schools implemented intentional strategies to promote attendance and build a positive culture around showing up. Students participated by wearing green or pickle-themed clothing, enjoying dill pickles at lunch, creating videos about the importance of good attendance, and completing pickle-themed activities.
The initiative brought awareness to an essential message: Attendance Matters. Each School Day Counts. Every One.
