Hilbert and Irene Dolly
Hilbert and Irene Dolly of Elkins celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Aug. 16. A surprise 65th anniversary party was hosted by their children Aug. 11 in Elkins.
They were united in marriage Aug. 16, 1953 in Cumberland, Maryland, by the Rev. E.L. Porter.
Mr. Dolly is the oldest son of the late John and Mary Reed Dolly of Whitmer. He is a 1953 graduate of Harman High School, where he played basketball. He worked for Buckhannon Lumber, Buckeye Rural and retired from Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp in Ravenswood with 25 years of service. He then worked at the Elkins Walmart for 10 years. He has since retired from work and enjoys hunting, fishing and gardening.
Mrs. Dolly is the oldest daughter of the late Burton and Pauline Carr Kirkpatrick of Elkins. She attended Elkins High School. She is a homemaker and enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking and cake decorating. She also used to make her own clothes.
They are the parents of three children, Ronald Dolly and wife, Debbie, of Mineral Wells, Sandra Shifflett and husband, Gary, of Elkins and Patrick Dolly and wife, Tracy of Viola, Delaware.
They have seven grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Dolly of Mineral Wells, Aaron Dolly of Belpe, Ohio, Jon Shifflett of Elkins, Jacob Shifflett of Parsons and Christopher and Kyle Dolly of Viola, Delaware.
They also have eight great-grandchildren, Alisha, Hannah, Owen and Wesson Dolly of Mineral Wells and MylaRose Shifflett of Parsons; and stepgreat-grandsons, Edward, Kevin and Tanner Shiflett of Parsons.
