Alan and Jimmie Jo Simmons

Family and friends gathered Oct. 26 at the Elkins Hampton Inn to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Alan and Jimmie Jo Simmons.

They were married Oct. 25, 1969, in St. Brendan Catholic Church in Elkins by Father Charles McCallister.

Mr. Simmons is the so on the late Albert and Patricia (Cutright) Simmons. He attended schools in the Suitland, Maryland area and retired from the city of Elkins in 2009.

Mrs. Simmons is the daughter of the late James and Monna (Nelson) Triplett. She attended schools in Randolph County and retired in 2008.

The couple has two children, one son Douglas Simmons and wife Crissy of elkins and one daughter Stephanie Long and husband Chris of Buckhannon. They also have one granddaugher, Madolyn Long.
