Elmer K. and Alta C. (Gainer) Cross will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children from 2 – 5 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Hodgesville Community Center.
They were married Nov. 20, 1949 in Oakland, Maryland.
Mr. Cross is the son of the late Stanley and Margie (Mouser) Cross. He retired from Monongahela Power after 42 1/2 years.
Mrs. Cross is the daughter of the late Earnest and Dove (Lutz) Gainer. She is a homemaker.
They are the parents of Vonda Shingleton, Victor (Kim) Cross, the late Karl B. Cross, Joyce (Danny) Groover and Alicia Cross. They also have four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two stepgrandsons.
