Elmer and Alta Cross

The children of Elmer K. and Alta C. (Gainer) Cross are hosting an open house in celebration of their 75th wedding anniversary today at the Kesling Mill Lions Club at 2138 Childers Run Road, Buckhannon, from 1-4 p.m.

They were married Nov. 20, 1949 in Oakland, Maryland. Elmer is the son of the late Stanley and Margie (Mouser) Cross. He retired from Monongahela Power after 42 1/2 years. Alta is the daughter of the late Earnest and Dove (Lutz) Gainer. She is a homemaker. They are the parents of Vonda Shingleton, Victor (Kim) Cross, the late Karl B. Cross, Joyce Groover and Alicia Cross.

The couple has four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one step grandson, four step great grandchildren and four step great, great grandchildren.
