Happy Thanksgiving from Barbour County.

Deer season is upon us. To some, this is a holiday just as important as Thanksgiving and Christmas. I hope everyone is safe in the woods this year.

There will be a Barbour County Community Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at Battlers Knob, Heiner Hall on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 3-5 p.m. (or until the food is gone). This is hosted by Kaytee Thorn in an attempt to be sure that as many people as possible get to enjoy Thanksgiving.

The 41st annual Christmas craft show will be held at the Randolph County National Guard Armory, 201 Caisson Dr., Belington on Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This always is a great place to get some Christmas gifts!

Looking ahead, the Philippi Christmas parade will be on Dec. 6 beginning at 7 p.m.

Belington will be having their Christmas parade on Dec. 7, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy cookies with Santa before the parade at the Golden Rule at 5:00 pm.

New Beginnings Church on Rt. 92 near Kasson will be having their live nativity drive-through on Dec. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy the journey “Back to Bethlehem.”

The Belington Elementary School will be hosting a Christmas craft show on Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

There will be unique West Virginia vendors, food, crafts, cookie decorating breakfast with Elf on the shelf, and much more.

All proceeds will benefit the Belington Elementary School PTA.

The Belington Board of Parks is accepting vendors for their Winter Market, which will be held at the Belington Civic Center on Dec. 14 beginning at 9 a.m. For more information, contact Megan Barkley at 304-704-5540.

There will be a Christmas stroll in downtown Philippi on Dec. 19 from 6 – 9 p.m. Come out and enjoy festive lights, holiday music, and check out the local shops and restaurants along the way.
