Skating days in Barbour

Hello from Barbour County!

Strutters Baton & Dance Team will be sponsoring a half-price skate night on Feb. 24 from 6-8 p.m. at SkateZone in Belington. This event is open to the public for children of all ages. Have a heart and twirl. Say no to drugs.

The Belington City election will be on March 4. Come out and make your voice heard.

The Belington Bakery will be hosting Pysanky: The Art of Ukrainian Egg Dying art class on March 9 from 1-3:30 p.m. Come out and learn a new skill and maybe it will become a favorite hobby.

There will be a Homeschool Skate Day at Skatezone on March 11 from 1-3 p.m. Admission will be $6 with a $1 entry fee.

There will be a Ladies Night Out at Battler’s Knob on March 13. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. Tickets includes dinner, door prize tickets and much fun! Tickets are limited. To reserve yours, contact Cheri at 304-613-7180 or Cierra at 304-621-3776.

There will be a Buckwheat Feed at the Asbury U.M. Church in Belington on March 15 from 8 a.m. – noon. There will be a cost for adults and a lesser cost for children 12 and under.

There will be a spring dance for all elementary and middle school-aged students on March 22 from 6-9 p.m. at Heiner Hall, Battler’s Knob. This is open to public or home-schooled students. Please bring verification of what grade the student is in, or their age. Chaparones will be on duty and refreshments will be available. There will be a cost for individuals, or per couple.

Looking ahead, there will be a Flea Market at Battler’s Knob on May 17. Keep this in mind when doing your spring cleaning. One man’s trash can be another man’s treasure. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information on reservations for a table.

The Barbour County Family Support Center relies on donations from the community supporters to stock their pantry with cleaning and hygiene supplies.
