Haymond family gathers for fellowship
Another Labor Day is in the books and the Haymond clan has enjoyed another get together with food, fun and fellowship.
Several relatives were missing this year because of too much going on with travel and other commitments. As always there was enough food and conversation to make the day a success.
The gifts this year were West Virginia Glass pen holders and were given in several categories to the direct descendants. Hazel Davidson, 100, was presented a dozen red roses as the oldest Haymond in attendance. Jordan Rowan, Dulcie Haymond Pritt’s great-great-granddaughter, took the prize for youngest being one day shy of 2-years-old. Longest married went to Levena and Pete Schramek for 59 shared years,. Newlyweds were Brock and Nicole Cutright with six years together. Kim Strubhar won farthest traveled, coming from Newport News, Virginia. The Smiths retained the crown for largest family in attendance.
The direct descendants older than 70 are: Hazel Davidson, 100, Joyce Newcome, 86, Gerald Haymond, 85, Reba Riffle, 84, Levena Schramek, 81, Donis Martin, 79, Jack Davidson, 78, Carol Gooding, 77, and Donis Perry, 72.
The next reunion will be the Sunday before Labor Day.
