Haymond Clan reunion held

The 2019 family reunion of the descendants of the Haymond Clan was held Sept. 1.

Many were missing from the day. As usual, good food was enjoyed by those who came out.

Prizes this year were tote bags with the family name and year printed on them. Those receiving these momentos were: Hazel Davidson as the oldest direct descendant at 101. On the other end of the age scale was Jordan Rowan just two days shy of her third birthday.

Jenny Haymond Carr captured the prize for the farthest traveled, coming from Apache Junction, Arizona. Charles and Carol Gooding took the award for newlyweds, and Jack and Sue Davidson got the trophy for 54 years of marriage. Sheila and Buddy Shaffer had the largest family in attendance.

The direct descendants over 70 were: Hazel Davidson, 101; Gerald Haymond, 86; Donis Martin, 80; Carol Gooding, 78; Jack Davidson, 78 9/10; Nick Davidson, 74; David Sampson, 73; Jenny Carr, 71; and Sheila Shaffer, 70 9/10.

Officers will remain the same. Next year’s reunion will be the Sunday before Labor Day, Aug. 30.
