ELKINS -- Davis & Elkins College students were recently inducted into the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Delta Alpha Pi international honor society. The local chapter, formed in 2015, is the 101st in 32 states that recognizes students with disabilities for their academic achievements.
Inducted during the ceremony were Kaitlynn Brown of Renick, Chapter President Shania "Mia" Ellison of Elkins, Elizabeth Finney of Valparaiso, Indiana, Chapter Treasurer Thomas Gustafson of Alexandria, Virginia, Chapter Vice President Julia Hancock of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, Charlotte Layman of Clarksburg and Chapter Secretary Alessandro Trujillo of Woodbridge, Virginia.
In addition to academic recognition, the honor society facilitates development of skills in leadership, advocacy and education.
Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society was founded in 2004 at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and is open to undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities.
