Elkins City Hall News

2 min read

It was a quiet week at City Hall with the holiday closure and many employees taking well-deserved time off. This upcoming week is expected to be much the same.

On Tuesday, Dec. 31, City Hall will close at noon and remain closed through Wednesday, Jan. 1. Upon reopening Jan. 2, we expect to hit the ground running and are looking forward to a positive and productive 2020.

Several projects will be wrapping up, such as the EPD and council chambers renovations, while others, including implementation of the Streetscape plan, investigating City Charter changes and the renovations of the Phil Gainer Community Center, will continue.

Additional projects will be kicked off with great enthusiasm and vision, like the City Hall Parking Lot Project and the creation of two community investment projects.

We invite you to participate in the work being done every day to make sure Elkins is the city where everyone wants to be and in celebrating that we are the lucky ones who are already here.

"Democracy is not simply a license to indulge individual whims and proclivities. It is also holding oneself accountable to some reasonable degree for the conditions of peace and chaos that impact the lines of those who inhabit one's beloved extended community." - Aberjhani
