Campbell to seek W.Va. Senate seat

ELKINS — Elkins resident Denise Campbell has announced she will be seeking a West Virginia Senate District 11 seat, representing those living in Randolph, Nicholas, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Upshur and Webster counties as well as part of Grant County.

On Sunday, a campaign kick-off for Campbell will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. in Elkins at the Old Brick Playhouse, located at 329 Davis Ave.

“Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend the event,” Campbell said. “Folks can stop by to talk, visit and ask questions as we get to know one another. Light refreshments will be served.”

On Monday, Campbell will travel to Charleston to file as a West Virginia senate candidate in the West Virginia Secretary of State Office.

Campbell, a Democrat, is a former West Virginia Delegate, having served three terms for the 43rd District. Currently, she is a professor and SIMS lab director at Alderson Broaddus University.
