Volunteer reader orientation offered at library

ELKINS — Read Aloud Randolph County will offer a Volunteer Reader Orientation for anyone interested in becoming a reader in Randolph County Schools. Our readers set aside a half an hour or longer every week to read aloud to a classroom, modeling the joy of reading to the engaged students. This is one of the most satisfying ways to get involved with our students as their smiles, laughter and pleas to read more highlight the impact you are making on them and their attitudes about reading.

The Read Aloud trainer will be available from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Elkins Randolph County Library. All interested participants must attend for one hour during this time frame to receive the full orientation. The training will be adjusted to meet your schedule. Bring a lunch and begin the exciting journey as a Read Aloud volunteer.
