Community Care CEO to give keynote at dinner
BUCKHANNON — Community Care of West Virginia’s chief executive officer, Rick Simon, will be giving the keynote at the Southern Upshur Business Association Annual Dinner on Wednesday, March 4.
A native of central West Virginia, Simon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Glenville State College and went on to achieve a Master of Arts in education from East Carolina University. After spending many years in higher education at Glenville State College, Mississippi State University and North Carolina Wesleyan, Simon worked as a consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Returning to the Mountain State, Simon joined Community Care of West Virginia, then known as Tri-County Health Clinic.
Twenty-four years later, under Simon’s tenure, CCWV has grown from one location in Upshur County, to its current status with 15 medical centers, five CCWV-owned pharmacies, 13 contract pharmacies, one dental clinic and 53 school-based health center sites. CCWV also offers programs in behavioral health and assistance with addiction and recovery.
Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. at the Banks District Fire Hall in Rock Cave. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Buckhannon Upshur Christmas Store. Those interested in tickets should email SUBA at SUBAWV@gmail.com by Feb. 24.
