The Mountain State Forest Festival is one of the largest and oldest festivals in West Virginia and will be celebrating its 84th year this fall. This festival promotes the beauty and splendor of the mountains and valleys of Randolph County, and promotes development, conservation, and culture of the abundant natural resources the region has to offer.
Rich in tradition, the Mountain State Forest Festival features a variety of demonstrations, arts and crafts, competitions, parades, and live music. The festival takes place during one of the best times to travel through the state and admire the fall foliage.
Executive Director of the Mountain State Forest Festival Breanna George states, "Having the Forest Festival selected as best festival in the region is an exciting honor. Many hours of hard work and dedication by countless volunteers is what has made the Mountain State Forest Festival a treasure for all of West Virginia."
In addition to the Mountain State Forest Festival, Randolph County had other favorites chosen for the region. These include El Gran Sabor as "Best Casual Dining" as well as Big Timber Brewing as "Best Watering Hole."
