ELKINS -- On Monday at 10 a.m., council's Public Safety Committee continues discussion of the code enforcement department and citizen complaints concerning the appearance of buildings and lots at the intersection of Eleventh Street and Davis Avenue.

Also Monday, at 1 p.m., council's Personnel Committee takes up the proposed reappointment of the city attorney. Under the Elkins City Charter, the city attorney is appointed to a one-year term of office that commences April 1 of each year. Old business before the committee is discussion of the proposed creation of an urban landscaper position and a standalone code enforcement position.

Tuesday at 5 p.m., the Elkins-Randolph County Airport Authority holds its regular monthly meeting at the airport terminal (400 Airport Road).

Budget planning for fiscal year 2021 (July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021) continues in council's Finance Committee in a special call meeting Thursday at 9 a.m. Topics include departmental budgets, proposed new city staff positions, and contributions to outside organizations. The Finance Committee will meet at least one additional time in March as the city prepares to submit its budget to the state auditor's office no later than March 28.
