ELKINS — As the renovation continues at Myles Center for the Arts and Myles Plaza on the campus of Davis & Elkins College, the stone Vietnam Veterans Memorial will soon have a new place of prominence. An icon on the campus for decades, the memorial honors D&E alumni who gave their lives during service to their country.

At its new site, to the right of Myles Center for the Arts, the memorial will be flanked by flag poles and accent lighting. Benches near the memorial will provide a place for reflection.

Davis & Elkins Trustee and alumnus Robert Gregory ’59, a retired captain in the United States Navy, spearheaded funding for the relocation project. Support was provided by alumni veterans and local veterans’ organizations.

Construction at Myles Center for the Arts and Myles Plaza is targeted for completion this fall.
