Rotary Club welcomes new members
BUCKHANNON — The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur recently welcomed two new members — Lisa Cain and Dr. Sara Stankus.
Cain has served as a financial advisor for over 19 years and has been with Edward Jones since 2012. She has been recognized as one of the firm’s top female financial advisors. She is active with the community serving as a member of the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce and volunteering with the community blood screenings sponsored by St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur.
She also volunteers with local dog rescue organizations and has fostered dogs in her home.
Stankus is the superintendent of Upshur County Schools.
Originally from Queens, she has over 30 years of educational experience. She was the principal at Union and Rock Cave Elementary Schools and a counselor at Buckhannon-Upshur High School and Union and Hodgesville Elementary Schools.
She began her career at East Main Elementary School, now Stockert Youth Center. She strongly believes in community involvement and that schools are a reflection of their community.
“We are very pleased to welcome Lisa and Sara into our club,” said Julie Keehner, Club President. “Their background and commitment to our community will be a great asset to our mission of providing Service Above Self.”
