Hospital opens Wound Care Clinic

St. Joseph’s Hospital is pleased to announce that their Wound Care Clinic opened March 1.

The Clinic will treat a variety of wounds that have not started to heal within two weeks, including chronic wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical and traumatic wounds, ostomy care and arterial and venous leg ulcers.

The Wound Care Clinic is staffed with a team of providers from Podiatry, Surgery and Wound Care which includes Podiatrists Addison Michael, DPM and Jennifer Michael, DPM; General Surgeons Susan Long, MD, Steve Riddick, MD and Ross Knowles, DO; and Wound Care Specialist Bonnie Blackburn, PA-C.

They provide individualized treatment plans utilizing the newest clinical tools in wound healing along with traditional clinical practices. Patients receive a focus on a whole body approach to wound healing including diabetic education, pain management, nutritional assessment, patient and caregiver counseling and special need items for pressure wounds including beds, seat cushions and footwear.

St. Joseph’s Wound Care Clinic is located in Building B at 10 Amalia Drive in Buckhannon. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 304-460-7461.
