Randolph Superintendent’s Corner

Dear Families and Friends of Randolph County,

Welcome back to a new school year! This year begins with a highly productive end to our summer vacation. We completed our first summer SOLE program. Many students and families took advantage of this opportunity to extend the learning process into the summer months. Students were provided five weeks of “summer school” with an emphasis on academics, exploration, and social/emotional learning. We received a great deal of positive feedback from teachers, staff, students, and families. Additionally, many teachers took advantage of several fantastic professional development opportunities during summer break.

RCS is committed to providing a safe and nurturing school environment where your children feel safe and are actively engaged in learning. Utilizing our Accelerated Learning Framework, we will address learning loss due to the pandemic, introduce high yield instructional strategies and provide social/emotional learning supports.Teaching and learning have certainly encountered roadblocks since the onset of the pandemic. RCS employees have continuously stepped up to the plate and worked tirelessly to care for our students in every manner.

I am proud to serve this county as Superintendent and have enjoyed visiting schools and classrooms since the beginning of the school year.

The dedication and determination that I have observed of our employees is humbling. People are the greatest resource of a successful school system, and families and community support are essential to accomplish our goals.

RCS appreciates the continuous support of our families, community members and local businesses and industry.

I look forward to working with all of you as we embark on this new school year.
