ELKINS — The board of directors for Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center has approved its slate of officers at its inaugural meeting on March 31.

Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center, previously known as Colonial Place Assisted Living & Memory Care, was purchased by Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center in the spring of 2021.

The facility’s 11-member board nominated and elected Sandra Elza, a retired healthcare administrator, as the chairperson. Brian Seders will serve as vice-chairperson; Rebecca Schoonover will serve as treasurer and Dena Collett will serve as secretary.

The initial board members’ terms were staggered into three, four and five year terms. Following the initial term, each board member may be elected to serve two additional three-year terms.

“We are looking forward to working with our new board of directors and officers,” said Chrissy Kittle, executive director at Mountain Memories. “Together, we’re going to continue to do great things at Mountain Memories.”

Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center is located at 301 Wilson Lane in Elkins. It is an assisted living and respite stay facility located in Elkins. The facility offers memory care services to residents. It has private and companion living quarters. The facility also has a full-service salon and spa.
