ELKINS — Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center recently recognized 25 employees and their combined 466 years of exceptional service.

ERCC recognized the employees with their 10th annual Employee Recognition Appreciation Awards. Ten employees received a custom wooden heart plaque made by local artisan Mike Pizzino of Almost Heaven Woodcraft of Beverly.

Long-time employee Johnny Bodkin, who has worked as at ERCC for 53 years, was one of the many employees recognized at the event. The environmental service aide was awarded a $300 bonus, a new lapel pin, a certificate of achievement and a custom plaque for his over half a century of service.

“It takes the combined effort of our entire team to be able to provide complete and compassionate care,” said Tara Shaver, ERCC Administrator. “We couldn’t accomplish this goal without our staff.”

Employees who have worked at ERCC for over 25 years of service received a cash bonus, a plaque, a certificate and a pin. Employees who had reached milestones of five, 10, 15 and 20 years received a cash bonus, a certificate and a pin.

“We have a wonderful staff at ERCC that are second to none”, Shaver said. “Our annual appreciation awards remind our employees that they are valued.”

ERCC gave 10 plaques and nearly $4,500 to employees. The total years at ERCC for all 148 of their current employees is 1,061 years.

“ERCC is a family, and our employees are a vital part of that family,” Shaver added.
