EASTER EGG HUNT: Calvary Assembly of God on Route 219 in Valley Head will have a Family Easter Egg Hunt today at 1 p.m. There will be photo opportunities for families.
EASTER CAKEWALK: The Talbott Community Building will host an Easter cakewalk today. The kitchen will open at 5 p.m. and the cakewalk will begin at 7 p.m. There will be an easter egg hunt at 6 p.m.
SUNDAY SERVICES: King's Wedding Chapel is opening for Sunday services April 9 for Easter Sunday and every second and fourth Sunday afterward at 11 a.m. For more information, contact Pastor Theresa Warp at 304-801-4816.
RESURRECTION SUNDAY SERVICE: Calvary Assembly of God Church on Route 219 in Valley Head will host a Easter service at 10:45 a.m.
PURPLE MAJESTIES MEETING: The Elkins Purple Majesties will meet for their April 10 luncheon at Lambert's Winery in Weston. The meeting will start at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. The spring lunch will consist of chicken salad on a bed of lettuce with a croissant and fruit on the side. Ice cream with blackberry sauce will complete the meal. There will be a cost for lunch. ALLEGHENY REGIONAL FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY: will hold a meeting 7 p.m. April 11 in the library of the IOOF building located on the Beverly Five-lane. Those interested in genealogy are encouraged to attend and become a member of ARFHS. Any questions call 304-636-1650 or 304-636-8528.
COMMUNITY BABY PANTRY: A Community Baby Pantry will be at the Phil Gainer Community Center April 14 from 1 0.a.m-noon, and 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. The community baby pantry is open to all Randolph County families with children under the age of five years old. All children are welcome to diapers, wipes, formula, hygiene products, and more. All items are free of charge.
PICKENS RAMP SUPPER: The annual Pickens Ramp Supper will be 1-6 p.m. April 15 the American Legion Hall in Pickens. The menu includes ramps - fried and raw, ham, fried potatoes, brown beans, coleslaw, cornbread, applesauce, dessert, and drinks. Sponsored by American Legion Pickens Post 122.
FUNDRAISER: There will be a sportsman bingo to raise funds for the Valley Head Fire Department 6 p.m. April 15. There will be guns, other prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
RABIES CLINICS: Randolph County 4-H Rabies Clinics for small animals will be held at five sites around Randolph County. On Saturday, April 15, clinics will be located at 4-H Camp Pioneer Assembly Hall in Beverly 9-11 a.m. and Leading Creek Fire Dept 1-3 p.m. On Saturday, April 22, clinics will be held at the Dry Fork Recreational Center 9-11 a.m., Mill Creek Fire Station 10 a.m. – noon and Elkins Southern States 1-3 p.m. There is a charge for vaccines.. Other vaccines will be offered upon availability from the veterinarians. For further information, contact the WVU Extension Office at 304-636-2455.
BUCKWHEAT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the lodge hall along the Beverly Five-lane on Saturday, April 15, from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu will include sourdough buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, milk, coffee or orange juice. Take-out will also be available.
EARTH DAY CELEBRATION: GFWC Woman's Club of Elkins is sponsoring an Earth Day celebration, Saturday, April 22, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Elkins City Park (large pavilion). There will be kid's crafts, displays, games, recognition of the poster and photo contest winners, and giveaways. Participating groups include the Elkins Tree Board, Master Gardeners, WV Master Naturalist program, Interact Children's Museum, Our Town, and others. BLOOD SCREENING: The Elkins Kiwanis Club will be holding their Health Awareness Blood Screening on April 15 and April 22 at the Randolph County Senior Center from 7-10 a.m. There is a charge for the basic multiphasic blood test. Other tests are available for an additional cost. This is an excellent opportunity to check for high cholesterol and diabetes among other health issues. YOUTH GOLF: Sign up for John Ballantyne Youth Golf will held on Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Elks Lodge lower level. The program is open to golfers of all ability levels aged 6-18. Golfers need to bring a parent or guardian and health insurance information.
MOBILE FOOD PANTRY: Mountaineer Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be at Camp Pioneer 11 a.m.-1 p.m. April 25. Items include a protein, vegetable, fruit, carb, dairy, and more. All items are free of charge.
BASEMENT SALE: The United Women in Faith will host a basement sale at the First United Methodist Church, 52 S. Florida St., Buckhannon 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 2. Gently used items including clothing, housewares and other miscellaneous items for sale.
STRAWBERRY SALE: Thee Elkins Area Band Auxiliary Annual Strawberry Sale is going through April 14. Order from any Elkins High or Elkins Middle School Band student or call 304-636-2721. Pick-up will be May 19 at Elkins Fire Department from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT PICKING: Jam sessions sponsored by Augusta Heritage Center at the Boiler House Theater at Davis & Elkins College will be on Wednesdays.
