WRITERS WORKSHOP: Writers Workshop invites you to celebrate our 30th anniversary and Poetry Month Wednesday, at the Arts Center in Elkins. Doors Open at 6 p.m., and the evening is free. West Virginia writers Cheryl Denise, William Calhoun, Carol Del Col, and C. Catherine Moore will read their works and honor authors Barbara Smith and Jeffrey Del Col. EARTH DAY CELEBRATION: GFWC Woman's Club of Elkins is sponsoring an Earth Day celebration, Saturday From noon until 2 p.m. at the Elkins City Park (large pavilion). There will be kid's crafts, displays, games, recognition of the poster and photo contest winners, and giveaways. Participating groups include the Elkins Tree Board, Master Gardeners, WV Master Naturalist program, Interact Children's Museum, Our Town, and others. HOMESTEAD CRAFT SHOW & INDOOR/OUTDOOR YARD SALE: will be Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. The event is being sponsored by the Tygart Valley Homestead Association with proceeds supporting the community center.

PANCAKE AND BUCKWHEAT FEED: Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat feed on Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. The event will be located at the Lodge Hall on the Beverly Five-lane.
RABIES CLINICS: Randolph County 4-H Rabies Clinics for small animals will be held at sites around Randolph County. On Saturday, clinics will be held at the Dry Fork Recreational Center 9-11 a.m., Mill Creek Fire Station 10 a.m. – noon and Elkins Southern States 1-3 p.m. There is a charge for vaccines.. HEALING BAITS: The Elkins Seventh-day Adventist Church will host a free health seminar on Sunday at 777 Kennedy Street in Elkins. The topic will be nutrition. The seminar will feature food samples, a door prize, and a question and answer session with health professionals. For more information, call 304-642-1429.
CEMETERY MEETING: Greenwood Cemetery meeting will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Presbyterian Church in East Dailey. All relatives of those interred in the cemetery are asked to attend.
MOBILE FOOD PANTRY: Mountaineer Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be at Camp Pioneer 11 a.m.-1 p.m. April 25. Items include a protein, vegetable, fruit, carb, dairy, and more. All items are free of charge.
RANDOLPH COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL: will meet Friday, April 28, at 12:30 p.m. at the Steer Steakhouse. An AARP representative will present information about any recent legislation that affects Senior Citizens from the recent WV Legislative Session. An auction will be held to support our Scholarship program. All West Virginia retired school employees are invited to attend.
RAMP BURGER DINNER: The American Legion Post 29 will be hosting a ramp burger dinner on Saturday, April 29, from 10:30 a.m. until sold out. Meal consists of ramp burger, french fries, baked beans, cookie and bottled water. Dine in or carry out.
BEVERLY BOOKMOBILE USED BOOK SALE: will be at the Beverly Elementary School playground pavilion on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Beverly Bookmobile.
HOMESTEAD BISCUIT/SAUSAGE GRAVY BREAKFAST: is scheduled for April 29 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Homestead Community and Event Center dining hall In Dailey. Dine in or carry out. The menu includes made from scratch biscuit and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, home fries, cinnamon apple dessert, coffee, orange juice or milk. CLASSIC CAR CRUISE IN: The PBHS girls basketball team is hosting their second annual classic car cruise in on April 30 starting at 10 a.m. There will be door prizes, 50/50 and food.
BASEMENT SALE: The United Women in Faith will host a basement sale at the First United Methodist Church, 52 S. Florida St., Buckhannon 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 2. Gently used items including clothing, housewares and other miscellaneous items for sale.
BLOCK PARTY: There will be a block party May 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, on 2nd Street and Henry Ave. in Elkins. There will be bounce houses, yard games, free food, special music by Nashville recording artist Anthony Mossburg, and more.
ELIMINATION DINNER: The Elkins VFW will be hosting an Elimination Dinner/Drawing on May 6. Happy Hour will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the dinner/drawing scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Other special drawings and raffles will take place during the event. USED BOOK SALE: The Elkins-Randolph Library Book Sale is organized by the Friends of the Library (Bookhounds). Funds are being raised to support the renovation and expansion of the Library. EMMA SCOTT ANNUAL PLANT SALE: The Emma Scott Garden Club presents its " Ninth Annual, Floral, Food and Fun" event on Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Randolph County Community Arts Center. Plants will be offered for a reasonable price along with bazaar items and freshly baked goods. Proceeds form the event help fund the club's many projects throughout the year.
