EARTH DAY CELEBRATION: GFWC Woman's Club of Elkins is sponsoring an Earth Day celebration Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Elkins City Park (large pavilion). There will be kid's crafts, displays, games, recognition of the poster and photo contest winners, and giveaways. Participating groups include the Elkins Tree Board, Master Gardeners, WV Master Naturalist program, Interact Children's Museum, Our Town, and more. Additional sponsors include the City of Elkins, Randolph County Commission, Randolph County Schools and Randolph County Democratic Women. For more information, call 304-641-0751.
HOMESTEAD CRAFT SHOW & INDOOR/OUTDOOR YARD SALE: will be Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. To reserve a space, contact Chelley Depp 304-642-4433 or email chelsvc94@yahoo.com. Lunch concessions will be available for purchase. The event is being sponsored by the Tygart Valley Homestead Association with proceeds supporting the community center.
PANCAKE AND BUCKWHEAT FEED: Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat feed on Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. The event will be located at the Lodge Hall on the Beverly Five-lane.
RABIES CLINICS: Randolph County 4-H Rabies Clinics for small animals will be held at sites around Randolph County. On Saturday, clinics will be held at the Dry Fork Recreational Center from 9-11 a.m., the Mill Creek Fire Station from 10 a.m. – noon and Elkins Southern States from 1-3 p.m.There is a charge for vaccines. HEALING HABITS: The Elkins Seventh-day Adventist Church will host a free health seminar on Sunday at 777 Kennedy Street in Elkins. The topic will be nutrition. The seminar will feature food samples, a door prize, and a question and answer session with health professionals. For more information, call 304-642-1429.
CEMETERY MEETING: Greenwood Cemetery meeting will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Presbyterian Church in East Dailey. All relatives of those interred in the cemetery are asked to attend.
MOBILE FOOD PANTRY: Mountaineer Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be at Camp Pioneer from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. April 25. Items include a protein, vegetable, fruit, carb, dairy and more. All items are free of charge.
RANDOLPH COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL: will meet Friday, April 28, at 12:30 p.m. at the Steer Steakhouse. An AARP representative will present information about any recent legislation that affects Senior Citizens from the recent WV Legislative Session. An auction will be held to support our Scholarship program. All West Virginia retired school employees are invited to attend.
PIANIST JACK GIBBONS: will perform for the residents of Mountain Living Community Assisted Care in Belington Friday, April 28 at 6 p.m. The event is open to the public. A reception will follow.
RAMP BURGER DINNER: The American Legion Post 29 will be hosting a ramp burger dinner on Saturday, April 29, from 10:30 a.m. until sold out. Meal consists of ramp burger, french fries, baked beans, cookie and bottled water. Dine in or carry out.
BEVERLY BOOKMOBILE USED BOOK SALE: will be at the Beverly Elementary School playground pavilion on Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Beverly Bookmobile.
HOMESTEAD BISCUIT/SAUSAGE GRAVY BREAKFAST: is scheduled for April 29 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Homestead Community and Event Center dining hall In Dailey. Dine in or carry out. The menu includes made-from-scratch biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, home fries, cinnamon apple dessert, coffee, orange juice or milk. FAMILIES IN NATURE LEARNING DAY: On April 30 from 2-4 p.m., meet at Augusta Pavilion on the campus of Davis & Elkins College for a nature scavenger hunt, animal yoga, nature games, pollinator station, learn how to "leave no trace", local trail info, meet and greet with Woodsy the Owl, make ornaments for the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree w/recycled items, and giveaways. BENEFIT DINNER: A benefit spaghetti dinner will be April 30 from noon - 5 p.m. at the Brushy Fork Community Building on Brushy Fork Road. The proceeds will benefit Patsy Helmick Turner in her 2nd fight with cancer in three years. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, roll, dessert and drink. All are welcome to attend.
CLASSIC CAR CRUISE IN: The Philip Barbour High School girls basketball team is hosting their second annual classic car cruise at PBHS on April 30 starting at 10 a.m. There will be door prizes, 50/50 and food.
