ELKINS -- Citizens Bank of West Virginia is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. Beverly Johnson and Jeffrey Kiess began their terms following the annual shareholder meeting.
Johnson is an ABR licensed broker/owner of Johnson Realty in Elkins and a licensed certified general appraiser with over 40 years of experience in her field. She is a member of the North Central MLS and the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce. She has been named Outstanding Business Woman of Elkins by Beta Alpha Beta and received a Professional Service Award from the Chamber of Commerce.
For decades, Director Johnson has given her time, talent and financial support to many civic and charitable organizations throughout Randolph County. She was instrumental in creating the first charity auction for United Way many decades ago. An avid runner, she has completed several marathons and enjoys traveling. A breast cancer survivor, she is a passionate advocate for women with breast cancer.
Married to Bill Johnson, they reside in Elkins and have one daughter, Kim Barnett, and two grandchildren. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church.
"It is an absolute honor to have been appointed to serve on the Citizens Bank Board," said Johnson. "In 1973, exactly fifty years ago, I worked as a teller at Citizens Bank. I took great pride in that job then, and it is with immense pride that five decades later, I return to the Bank as a Board member with an opportunity to help people reach their financial goals by supporting the mission of the Bank."
Kiess is a commercial real estate developer and cattleman with operations in Tucker County. He is the former owner and dealer principle of Performance Chevrolet. A graduate of Davis & Elkins College, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Business Management, and Marketing. While studying at D&E, he also earneda minor in Real Estate. Kiess is a member of the Elks Lodge #1135, Tucker County Farm Bureau, and the WVCattleman's Association.
He is a former member of the West Virginia Automobile and Truck Dealers Association.
A resident of Elkins, he and his wife, Sharon Kiess, have two sons, Trevor and Chrisstopher. He is a member of the Woodford United Methodist Church.

"My first association with a bank was decades ago when I opened a savings account with the hard-earned money I received from being a paperboy. I look forward to dutifully serving this bank as it continues to provide exceptional financial products and service to its customers and communities."

Citizens also announces William T. "Bill" Johnson, Jr. has retired from the CFC and Citizens Bank Board of Directors. Bill began his service as a director in 2005, and his leadership has been invaluable to the Board and the Bank as he has truly championed Citizens Bank's mission. He has been appointed Director Emeritus for his legacy of serving with distinction, steadfast commitment and loyalty.
