REVIVAL: at Markley Chapel will be through Sunday. Junior Perdue will be the leading evangelist, with special singing each night. Services will be at 7 p.m. each evening.
ANNUAL INSIDE YARD & BAKE SALE: by the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Ladies Missionary will be today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church is located beside the Randolph County 4-H. Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., with lunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the group's Annual Mission Goals.
ELIMINATION DINNER: The Elkins VFW will be hosting an Elimination Dinner/Drawing today. Happy Hour will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the dinner/drawing scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Other special drawings and raffles will take place during the event. For more information stop by or call the VFW.
DINNER: The Whitmer United Methodist Church will host a spaghetti dinner today from noon to 5 p.m.
BLOCK PARTY: will be today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, on 2nd Street and Henry Avenue in Elkins. The event will feature bounce houses, yard games, free food, special music by Nashville recording artist Anthony Mossburg and more.
CHICKEN BBQ: A Chicken Burn BBQ benefiting the Elkins United Christian Community Center is today starting at 11 a.m. The event will be at the old IGA parking lot across from Davis Electric. Meals include a half chicken, applesauce, chips, dessert cake and a water. Meals can be purchased in person on site and online. SPAGHETTI DINNER: will be at St. Patrick Parish Hall in Coalton on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Dine-in or carry out. Separate prices for adults and children under 10 years old.
RAMP BURGER DRIVE-THRU: will be Sunday at 11 a.m. until sold out at Tractor Supply Co. in Elkins. A total of 400 meals will be sold, and will feature a quarter-pound ramp burger, chips and a drink for $10. Also selling clean ramps for $10 per pound, dirty ramps for $5 per pound, and bulbs only for $20 per pound. Proceeds will go to Boy Scout Troop 66 Summer Camp funds.
PURPLE MAJESTIES: The May get together for the Elkins Purple Majesties will be held Monday at Sweet T's Country Kitchen Restaurant, 6087 Seneca Trail, Valley Bend, at 11:30 a.m. The menu will consist of chicken or tuna salad. RANDOLPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: will meet Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Kump Education Center. Ideas for fundraisers and plans for outreach events will be discussed. This meeting is open to all interested individuals. For more information call or text 304-641-0751.
DEMOCRATIC WOMEN: The Randolph County Democratic Women will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. immediately following the Executive Committee Meeting at the Kump Education Center on Randolph Avenue. RANDOLPH COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY: will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday at 5 .p.m at the airport terminal building.
HOMESTEAD COMMUNITY CENTER MEETING: is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the dining hall at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. BUTTERFLY SALE: Our Town, Inc. will host a Butterfly Sale, the painted butterflies that are exhibited downtown, on Saturday, May 13, from 1-3 p.m. at the Dann Building at the corner of Third St and Davis Ave.directly across from Elkins Sewing Center. HOOKED ON FISHING NOT ON DRUGS: Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs at the Phil Gainer Community Center is set from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 13. HOFNOD is a non-profit event that promotes outdoor recreation while educating local youth on the dangers of substance abuse. All participants can expect door prizes, games, resource vendors and a functioning concession stand.
MEALS ON WHEELS: Meals on Wheels of Randolph County's annual business meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 17, at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the board room of the Davis Medical Center on Gorman Avenue.
