The Arts Center hosted the 22nd annual Gala Fundraiser on May 5. Officials celebrate every year by providing this exhibition to our community. It directly benefits everyone and brings artists and the community together to celebrate art. The goal is to provide access to diverse arts programming for all citizens.

Officials announced the 22nd annual Gala Art Award recipients, which were selected by Pat Cross:

Best of Show, Cydney with a Chinese Traditional Garment, by Liuqing Ruth Yang;

First Place, Secret Garden by Patty Stewart;

Second Place, Logan, by Josh Smithson;

Third Place, Color Storm, Linda Stonestreet;

Paul Bonnes 3D Award, A Stump Healed Over, by Nevada Tribble;

Honorable Mention, Two Women of Chinchero, by John Terry; and

Honorable Mention, Color by Color, by Tessa Garver-Daniels.

Thinking back on the 22nd Annual Gala Exhibition and Honky Tonk Fundraiser, officials are filled with so much gratitude that it's hard to properly express it in words. Every year, the community responds greatly and this year was a huge success. Because of you, the Arts Center raised more than $12,000, which will continue to support the Arts Center's mission.

Whether you made a donation, sponsored, bought tickets, purchased a silent auction item or artwork, you helped the Arts Center reach the goal. Thank you so much to the sponsors: Anonymous, Bob & Dottie Wamsley, Bonnes Designs, Cindy Stemple, Davis & Elkins College, Elkins Builders Supply, Elkins Sewing Center, Great Harvest, Holiday Inn Express, Joey's Bike Shop, Long John Silvers, Marijane Kylie, Mountain Valley Bank, The Mossy Merchant, Vandevander & Nypl CPA's and Virginia Byers.
