Cakewalk to benefit Literacy Volunteers

Citizens Promoting Community will be hosting the second Cakewalk of the Summer to benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Randolph County today.
Ticket sales will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the cakewalk will start at 6 p.m. There will be a 50/50 drawing as well.
The first Citizens Promoting Community cakewalk this year raised more than $900 for Appalachian Wounded Warriors.
On Saturday, July 8, Citizens Promoting Community in partnership with the West Virginia Railroad Museum will host its first "Community Day" at the Rotary Amphitheater in the Elkins Town Square. The museum will be open throughout the day for attendees to view its 2023 Exhibit.
Citizens Promoting Community Day will feature the second annual McDonald's Cornhole Classic and children's tournament. The event will highlight local craft vendors and various non-profits on site to provide information about their organizations.
There will be baton and dance groups performing throughout the day. Samantha Fox will perform at 4:30 p.m. with Michael Bonnett & Rivers Edge closing out the event with a performance from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
