SPAGHETTI DINNER: The Randolph County Special Olympics Spaghetti dinner will be today at the Beverly Fire Hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and drink. FREE TREE PLANTING WORKSHOP: sponsored by the Elkins Tree Board will be today at 11 a.m. in the front lawn of the historic Gov. Kump House on Randolph Ave. (across from Kroger). Parking is available in the rear of the Kump House. ETB member and silviculturist Linda Burke will lead the workshop which will focus on proper timing and methods of successful tree planting and care. LIONS CLUB OF ELKINS CHICKEN BARBECUE: The Lions Club of Elkins will have a Chicken Barbecue today at the parking lot across from Davis Electrical Service on Randolph Avenue (former IGA). The meal will include half a chicken, two side items, roll, dessert, and bottled water. The meals will be ready for drive-thru and walk-up pickup by 10:30am.

HOMECOMING: The Lambert Community Church will host a homecoming event on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be Jerry Ayers and a covered dish dinner will follow.
HOT DOG MEAL: to benefit Marsha Taylor, suffering from brain cancer, will be Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at the main dining hall at 4-H Camp Pioneer. The meal will consist of two hot dogs, macaroni salad, a bag of chips and a drink. The event will also feature an auction starting at 2 p.m. For more information, call Harvey Taylor at 304-338-2087.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Whitmer United Methodist Church will host Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 12 through Friday, June 16. Activities will include stories, songs, crafts, fun and more.
