VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Whitmer United Methodist Church will host Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. through Friday. Activities will include stories, songs, crafts, fun and more.
GOSPEL JAMBOREE: Valley Vista Camp, located at 532 Valley Vista Lane Huttonsville, will host a Friday night Gospel Jamboree starting at 7 pm. The Lesters and other gospel acts will take the stage for a night of praise. The fun will continue on Saturday, June 17 at 7 p.m. with another full evening of music. BENEFIT DINNER: A kidney transplant benefit dinner for Jaret Gear will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the gravel lot opposite of the fire department. Dinners include lasagna, salad, roll and water.
VFW POST 5781: will host a meat shoot with 12 gauge shotguns Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be provided. The next shoot is scheduled for July 15. For information, contact Danie Ours at 304-227-4349.
CEMETERY CAKEWALK: at the Talbott Community Building on the Talbott Road will be Saturday. The kitchen will open at 5 p.m. with the cakewalk at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Talbott Cemetery.
BASIC NEEDS COMMUNITY BRUNCH: will be Sunday, serving at 10:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. The menu will be scrambled eggs with cheese, potato, bacon/sausage, biscuits, waffles with chicken and melon. A free will offering will be taken upon entry to the Family Life Center. Donations from the following basic needs items are encouraged: toilet paper; toothpaste; toothbrushes; deodorant -- men's and women's; and shampoo. For more information, call 540-758-3015.
BROWN BAG CONCERT: The Arts Center will host a Brown Bag Concert featuring Chet Lother noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 21.
