VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: First Baptist Church will host VBS Monday through Friday, from 6-8 p.m. Ages 4 years through grade six are welcome. This year's theme is "Heroes of Faith." CONCERT: First Baptist Church will host an evening of free Christian music on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Rotary Amphitheater in the Elkins Town Square. Enjoy music by the FBC choir and Praise Team, groups, duets, and soloists, including Michael Bonnett of Rivers Edge. Bring a lawn chair and join the community in an evening of worship.
ANNUAL MEETING: Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County is holding its annual meeting at the Literacy Center, 88 W. Main St., Buckhannon on Tuesday from 3-3:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
HOMESTEAD COMMUNITY CENTER MEETING: is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the dining hall at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. Members and community residents are encouraged to attend. A focus group discussion will take place with Professor Gregory Galford from Virginia Tech. HOUSE TOUR TUESDAYS: at the historic Kump House begin Tuesday. The Gov. Kump house will be open for public tours from 3-5 p.m. every Tuesday in the summer. New Wild, Wonderful Woods interpretive displays and upstairs rooms are included in the tour. The house is located at 401 Randolph Ave., Elkins (across from Kroger) and parking is available in the rear, accessible via Seneca Road. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. ALLEGHENY REGIONAL FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY: will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the library of the IOOF building located along the Beverly Five-lane. Those interested in genealogy are encouraged to attend and become a member of ARFHS. For more information, call 304-636-1650 or 304-636-8528.
SUMMER BASH: Join Professional Care Services, located at 19 Main St. Elkins (behind the Rail Road Depot) Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. for family fun including: children's games with prizes, face painting, entertainment by Michael Bonnett & River's Edge and performances by local dance groups and a cornhole tournament. VFW POST 5781: will host a meat shoot with 12 gauge shotgun on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be provided. For information, contact Danie Ours at 304-227-4349. The next shoot is scheduled for Aug. 19.
FUNDRAISER: The Randolph County Chapter 74 of the Order of the Eastern Star will host a fundraiser Tuesday, July 18, from 4-8 p.m. at Applebee's in Elkins.
MOUNTAINEER CHAPTER of IWLA: will be hosting a Free Youth Conservation Day on Saturday, July 22.. The clubhouse is located approximately 6 miles straight up Files Creek Road, in Beverly. This is a free event for kids 8 -17 years of age. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the event starting around 9 a.m. Some learning stations for the day will include Air Rifle Shooting, Fishing, Skeet Shooting and more. Lunch will be served and the event is usually over around 2 p.m. All participants are asked to bring rubber boots and wear proper clothing for the day's weather.

REUNION: Belington High School will host a reunion at 5 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. Each individual will pay for their own dinner. PICKIN' IN THE PARK: Pickin' in the Park will take place each week at Elkins City Park on Wednesday nights through the summer. Co-sponsored by the Augusta Heritage Center and Elkins Parks and Recreation. The Country Music Jam Sessions start at 4:30 p.m. in the Small Pavilion, and the Old-Time Music Jam Sessions start at 6:30 p.m. in the raised Sycamore Street Pavilion. Both events run for at least two hours and are welcome to continue until the musicians are ready to stop. All acoustic instruments are welcome, as well as singers, dancers, and listeners.
