VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: First Baptist Church will host VBS through Friday, from 6-8 p.m. Ages 4 years through grade six are welcome. This year's theme is "Heroes of Faith." ANNUAL MEETING: Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County is holding its annual meeting at the Literacy Center, 88 W. Main St., Buckhannon today from 3-3:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
HOMESTEAD COMMUNITY CENTER MEETING: is today at 6:30 p.m. in the dining hall at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. Members and community residents are encouraged to attend. HOUSE TOUR TUESDAYS: at the historic Kump House begin today. The Gov. Kump house will be open for public tours from 3-5 p.m. every Tuesday in the summer. New Wild, Wonderful Woods interpretive displays and upstairs rooms are included in the tour. The house is located at 401 Randolph Ave., Elkins (across from Kroger) and parking is available in the rear, accessible via Seneca Road. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. SUMMER BASH: Join Professional Care Services, located at 19 Main St. Elkins (behind the Rail Road Depot) Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. for family fun including: children's games with prizes, face painting, entertainment by Michael Bonnett & River's Edge and performances by local dance groups and a cornhole tournament. VFW POST 5781: will host a meat shoot with 12 gauge shotgun on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be provided. For information, contact Danie Ours at 304-227-4349. The next shoot is scheduled for Aug. 19.
CONCERT: First Baptist Church will host an evening of free Christian music on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Rotary Amphitheater in the Elkins Town Square. Enjoy music by the FBC choir and Praise Team, groups, duets, and soloists, including Michael Bonnett of Rivers Edge. Bring a lawn chair and join the community in an evening of worship.
FUNDRAISER: The Randolph County Chapter 74 of the Order of the Eastern Star will host a fundraiser Tuesday, July 18, from 4-8 p.m. at Applebee's in Elkins.
REUNION: Belington High School will host a reunion at 5 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. Each individual will pay for their own dinner. This is an invitation for anyone who attended BHS along with family and friends. Please RSVP by July 5.
