ELKINS -- Students participating in the Randolph County School's Summer SOLE program at George Ward Elementary School have been growing cucumber plants for their families.
They also raised extra seedlings to be planted at the high tunnel at Pickens School.
The students at Pickens raised extra tomato seedlings to be planted at George Ward's raised garden beds.
Students and faculty at both schools will reap the benefits on their salad bars when they return to school next month. It's a win-win!
This garden program was developed and organized by members of Plant the Seed Project, a 501(c)3 non profit corporation.
