"To help others and to serve where the need exists" describes the volunteer services being generously provided by many members of the Upshur County Association of Retired School Employees.
Millie Beer, Community and Service Chairperson, said 19,566 volunteer hours were provided to the youth and adults of our area without monetary reimbursement during the past year. Some of the areas of community service included Hospital Auxiliary; Service Clubs, (Lions, CEOS, Garden Club); Church Work; Parish House; Strawberry Festival; Assistance to Senior Citizens; and Activities Involving Youth.
In partnership with the West Virginia Association of Retired School Employees Community Service Initiative, the local organization is very proud of the time, work and contributions that members so willingly share with the citizens of Upshur County.
If you are a retired school employee and would like to be involved in these worthwhile activities, please do not hesitate to become a member of the organization. You too can make a difference in helping where there is a need in the lives of the youth and adults in Upshur County. Helping others is a rewarding experience.
