SPAY-GHETTI DINNER: The 11th annual Randolph County Humane Society Spay-ghetti Dinner will be held Saturday, Sept. 9 from 4-7 p.m. at Orchard Hall in Elkins. Tickets are available at the shelter, from board members, at various sites around town, and on the RCHS website at www.rchswv.org. The famous St. Patrick's Guild of Coalton spaghetti and meatballs will be featured, along with a pet parade and adoption event, RCHS merchandise sales, and more. ELKINS PURPLE MAJESTIES: will crown a new queen on Sept. 11 at Stonewall Jackson Resort. The crowning of the queen will take place at 11:30 a.m. A buffet lunch will begin at noon. Please make reservations by calling Carol Helmick at 304-614-0359.

CAMP HOPE BENEFIT DINNER: will be Saturday, Sept. 16,  from noon to 7 p.m. at  Crim Memorial United Methodist Church, 78 Pike Street Philippi, WV 26416, You can call for advanced tickets at 304-366-8345. The meal will consist of Uncle V's Kickin' Chicken smoked on site and sides.

FUNDRAISER: On Tuesday, Sept. 1h Davis Medical Center Volunteer Services will host a Books Are Fun, Book and Gift Fundraising Event inside the Marketplace Entrance of Davis Medical Center from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take your Books Are Fun receipt to The Gift Garden Gift Shop for a 20% discount or to Starbucks WPS for a $1.00 discount on any Grade or Venti beverage. Proceeds from this event support the Davis Health System Foundation Volunteer Services Fund.

MSFF GRAND FEATURE PARADE SEATS: Forest Festival Grand Feature Parade seats will be available at Otterbein United Methodist Church at 1100 South Davis Avenue in Elkins. The seats will go on sale on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Parade seats may be reserved by calling the church office at 304-636-0569 Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All seats must be paid for by Monday, Oct. 2.

SCARECROW FESTIVAL: Scarecrows created for the downtown Our Town project must be returned to the Dann Building (across from the Elkins Sewing Center) on Friday, Sept. 8 from 4-6 p.m.. A few kits remain. Contact: 304-636-0415 if interested.

RANDOLPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC WOMEN: will meet Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. in the Kump Education Center classroom immediately following the Executive Committee meeting. RANDOLPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: will meet Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 5 p.m. in the Kump Education Center classroom. The CER grant, bylaws, candidate recruitment, and plans for the rest of 2023 will be discussed. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information call 304-641-0751.

MISS AUTUMN ON THE DRYFORK PAGEANT: will be Sept. 23 at 3 p.m. Harman School. School age (1-12 grade) (Sportswear and formal wear); Ages 0-5 (not yet in grade school. PICKIN' IN THE PARK: Pickin' in the Park will take place each week at Elkins City Park on Wednesday nights through the summer. Co-sponsored by the Augusta Heritage Center and Elkins Parks and Recreation. The Country Music Jam Sessions start at 4:30 p.m. in the Small Pavilion, and the Old-Time Music Jam Sessions start at 6:30 p.m. in the raised Sycamore Street Pavillion. Both events run for at least two hours and are welcome to continue until the musicians are ready to stop. All acoustic instruments are welcome, as well as singers, dancers, and listeners. USED BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Library Used Book Sale and Donation drop off. Every Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Davis Avenue location of the Library.  Donations of gently used books, movies, games, and puzzles also taken at this time.  All funds collected will go towards the new building fund.

TOPS 0590 MILL CREEK: meets at the Russell Memorial Library in Mill Creek every Wednesday. Weigh-in is from 10:30-10:45 a.m. Meeting following weigh in. For information contact Jane Robinson at 304 338-6403.
