Surgical Technologist Week celebrated

BUCKHANNON -- WVU Medicine St. Joseph's Hospital recognized its surgical technologists during National Surgical Technologist Week, Sept. 17-23.
This week has been designated by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) to celebrate and honor the profession. It began by a resolution adopted by the AST Board of Directors in 1984.
This year's theme is "Celebrating Unsung Heroes" and recognizes the hard work that they do in the operating room to ensure patient safety and operating efficiency.
"During National Surgical Technologist Week, we celebrate the Unsung Heroes of St. Joseph's Hospital, our dedicated Surgical Technologists. Their unwavering commitment to patient safety and operating efficiency shines as they work tirelessly in the operating room. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their invaluable contributions to our mission of providing quality healthcare to our community," said Skip Gjolberg, President and CEO of St. Joseph's Hospital.
