WEDNESDAY PICKIN': will again take place on the campus of Davis & Elkins College, in the lobby of the Boiler House Theatre, sponsored by the Augusta Heritage Center and D&E, every Wednesday, starting Nov. 8, until June (except for Thanksgiving Week and Christmas Week). The Country Music Jam Sessions run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and the Old-Time Music Jam Sessions run from 6:30-9 p.m. All acoustic instruments are welcome, as well as singers and listeners. FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE MEETING: Seneca Trail FOP Lodge 104 will meet on Thursday, Nov. 9 at the lodge building at 7 p.m. The meeting will include election of officers for 2024.

BENEFIT: will be hosted by the Roaring Creek Lions Club as a fundraiser for the Tim Elmore family to help with their funeral expenses on Friday, Nov. 10 at Coalton Saint Patrick's Parrish Hall.  Hot dogs will be served at 6 p.m. and a cake walk will start at 7 p.m.  Cake donations for the walk will be appreciated. VETERANS DAY PARADE: will be Saturday, Nov. 11, hosted by American Legion Post 29. Line up starts at Southern States at 11 a.m. and step off is at 1 p.m. If interested in participating, please contact Mike Cardinal at 304-614-6338.

104th VETERANS DAY DINNER: will be at American Legion Post 29 on Saturday, Nov. 11. The social hour will be at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. Veterans eat free. Guest tickets are available for purchase. A limited number of tickets is available. The deadline to purchase is Nov. 5. 

GOSPEL SING:  Horner, with the Kingsmen on Saturday, Nov.  11, at 6 p.m. Pastors Rick and Brenda Wyatt.  Free attendance and a love offering will be received. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 304-613-9207.

PURPLE MAJESTIES: All "nifty over 50 ladies" are invited to join the Elkins Purple Majesties Red Hats for their monthly luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 13 at the Elkins Railyard Restaurant. The menu includes meat loaf, potatoes, vegetables and a delicious dessert. All Red Hat members and guests are welcome to attend. New members are always welcome. WOMAN'S CLUB: The GFWC Woman's Club of Elkins will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Phil Gainer Center. Social time will begin at 6 p.m. with the meeting to follow at 6:30 p.m. Members and friends are invited to bring a handcrafted item for the "Make and Take" sale and extra cash for the Soles4Souls raffle basket.
