BROWN BAG CONCERT: The Arts Center will host a free Brown Bag Concert today from noon to 1 p.m., with Raymond Godwin playing holiday music.
WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: takes place on the campus of Davis & Elkins College in the lobby of the Boiler House Theatre, sponsored by the Augusta Heritage Center and D&E, every Wednesday (except for Christmas Week). Country Music Jam Sessions run from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the Old-Time Music Jam Sessions run from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. All acoustic instruments are welcome, as well as singers and listeners. RANDOLPH COUNTY DEMS: are collecting non-perishable food items to help support the EHS Tiger Express Christmas basket initiative. Food items can include, but are not limited to, canned vegetables, cereals, desserts, stuffing, gravies, and soups. Donation boxes will be set up outside the main entrance to EHS through Dec. 15. CRAFT SALE: The United Women in Faith will be hosting a Cookies, Crafts, and More sale Dec. 16 9 a.m. to noon at First United Methodist Church, 52 S. Florida Street, Buckhannon.
BUCKWHEAT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the Lodge Hall on the Beverly Five-Lane on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu will include buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, orange juice, milk or coffee.
CHRISTMAS MUSICAL: “Hope Awakes in Bethlehem” is an inspiring Christmas musical that will be presented by the First Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Join our choir, soloists and handbells for a time of joy, celebration and worship as our music recounts the miraculous story of the birth of the Christ Child. SQUARE DANCE: will be Sunday, Dec. 31 from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Arts Center in Elkins. Squares will be called by Taylor Runner. The band will be Gerry Milnes and friends. Joyce Rossbach will call some contras. No partner or experience is necessary. There will be instruction. The dance is brought to you by the Elkins Barn Dance Collectives, in cooperation with the Augusta Heritage Center. No alcohol is allowed. There is a cost for those over 12 years old.
